Athletic Excellence and Collegial Bonds on Display at NMSCST General's Cup 2024
Tangub City — Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (NMSCST) hosted the highly anticipated General’s Cup 2024 Invitational Games on October 28, 2024. This event featured competitions in basketball, softball, and baseball, drawing teams of skilled athletes from four educational institutions.
Teams from NMSCST, Mindanao State University - Main Campus (MSU-MC), Iligan Medical Center College (IMCC), and Josefina Herrera Cerilles State College (JHCSC) competed at the P.E. Academic Building and the NMSCST Quadrangle. The event provided a platform for students, faculty, and staff, not only to showcase their athletic abilities — but to foster inter-collegiate camaraderie, and build school pride.
Basketball Matches
The basketball games began at 7:00 a.m. with the following matchup schedules:
• 7:00 - 8:30 a.m.: MSU-MC vs. NMSCST (Faculty & Staff)
• 8:30 - 10:00 a.m.: JHCSC vs. MSU-MC (College Varsity)
• 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.: IMCC vs. NMSCST (College Varsity)
• 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.: MSU-MC vs. JHCSC (Faculty & Staff)
In the afternoon, additional games took place:
• 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.: IMCC vs. JHCSC (College Varsity)
• 2:30 - 4:00 p.m.: MSU-MC vs. NMSCST (College Varsity)
• 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.: JHCSC vs. NMSCST (Faculty & Staff)
Softball Matches
Softball games were held at the NMSCST Quadrangle, with the first game starting at 8:00 a.m. and another match at 2:00 p.m., both showcasing contests between MSU-MC and NMSCST.
Baseball Matches
Baseball games commenced at 9:00 a.m., also at the NMSCST Quadrangle, where MSU-MC and NMSCST engaged in an exciting showdown.
The NMSCST General’s Cup 2024 Invitational Games successfully strengthened connections between participating institutions and offered athletes an opportunity to excel and represent their schools with pride.
