LABUYO, TANGUB CITY — Employees of Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (NMSCST) gathered on March 5, 2026, for a Women’s Month Symposium organized by the Gender and Development (GAD) Office under Dr. Julie Mar Regis, in coordination with GAD Coordinators and Officers.

Guest speaker Dr. Shambaeh A. Abantas-Usman, Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Tangub City, delivered a keynote address on “Creating Safe and Inclusive Workspaces: Our Role as Public Servants.” She emphasized that, “True leadership is not found in the exercise of authority, but through the power to empower others and the courage to build spaces where every voice is heard and respected.”

Faculty and staff demonstrated solidarity by wearing purple and receiving official GAD polo shirts, symbolizing their commitment to gender equality and the college’s mission to empower women. The symposium also highlighted NMSCST’s plans to institutionalize safe space principles through upcoming policy reviews and workshops under the 2026 GAD Action Plan.
