On Sunday, October 27, 2024, the Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (NMSCST) Old Gymnasium and P.E. Academic Building came alive with competitive energy as the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) held its much-anticipated Palakasan 2024. This one-day intramural event coincided with the monthlong General's Cup 2024 celebrations, showcasing the dedication of graduate students and faculty alike.

The event opened with a colorful entrance led by the ROTC officers, followed by the NMSCST March and a spirited Saludo competition by the graduate student participants. The program featured welcoming remarks from Mr. Allen Anthony S. Pantallano, Vice President of the Master's Degree Programs, followed by messages from Dr. Marilou M. Abatayo, Dean of the SGS, and Dr. Nelson P. Cabral, OIC-College President. Following an inspiring oath of sportsmanship, teams competed across multiple games in both gym venues until 4:00 p.m., with winners celebrated during the afternoon awarding ceremony led by SGS faculty and program presidents. The event highlighted not only athletic excellence but also the enduring school spirit of NMSCST’s graduate community.
